The Point of sale is part of Booking + POS and Complete, and it is included when you pay per booking. On Booking it is shown with the name of the option that has it, and opening it explains what it adds.
From an appointment
When a customer has arrived, choose Start sale on their appointment in the Calendar. The services are already on the sale. You can add an add-on such as Wash or Styling at the chair. Choose how the customer pays and close the sale.
You can also book the customer's next appointment while you are at the Point of sale.
A walk-in
A walk-in is booked in the Calendar with Walk-in, on every option. With the Point of sale, the first service added to a new sale with no appointment books one as well. A walk-in is an appointment starting now, to the minute, and the customer's name is optional.
It needs a free chair right now. When the chairs the service needs are all taken, ServeCounter refuses the walk-in and says so. Someone with the right to book anyway can still add it. A walk-in does not wait for the first free time. To take payment, choose Start sale on it like on any appointment, which needs the Point of sale.
Cash and card
With the Point of sale, cash is counted into the day. A card payment goes through a card reader or, where your phone supports it, Tap to Pay. Receipts can go to the customer by email or by text message. A text receipt is charged like any text.
On Booking + POS and Complete, each card payment at the chair and each online payment, whether by card, iDEAL or Wero, carries a small ServeCounter fee on top of what your payment provider charges. The current amounts are on the prices page. Cash and your own terminal carry no ServeCounter fee. When you pay per booking there is no fee per payment.
Closing the day
At the end of the day, choose Close the day. The takings are listed by payment method, tips are on their own line, and the cash is counted. You can also record cash in, cash out and the opening float.
