Getting started as a barber

From signing up to your first booking, with the words and services a barber starts with.

Signing up

When sign-up asks "What do you do?", choose Barber. Your business is set up with a barber's words, a starter list of services and opening hours you can change.

The words you will see

A barber's screens say chair, not station. The people who cut are barbers. The people who book are customers, and someone who comes in without booking is a walk-in. On a customer's record the notes are called Notes and the pictures are called Photos.

The services you start with

Your catalogue already holds the services most barbers sell, so you do not start from an empty list:

  • Haircut, with two variants: short hair and long hair. A variant is one version of a service with its own length and price.
  • Skin fade
  • Kids cut
  • Cut + beard
  • Beard trim
  • Hot towel shave, which customers pay in full when they book online

Wash and Styling are add-ons you can put on the haircuts. Every service has a length and a price. They are examples to edit or delete, so go through the list before you publish your booking page.

Opening hours

A new barber location starts open Tuesday to Saturday, 09:00 to 18:00. Change the days and hours in Settings, under Opening hours (with several locations, under the location).

What to do next

  1. Add your chairs: Chairs and chair renters.
  2. Publish your booking page and share it: Your booking page and the share kit.
  3. Know what happens on day 7: The trial and choosing a plan.
